Aleksandr Doroshenko, head of tank production sector of NPP RUSMET, took 3rd place in the competition of welders.

Within the framework of the annual international exhibition WELDEX-2013 / “Rossvarka’ 2013”, where NPP RUSMET took an active part, the contest “Best Welder” was held. In this competition, our welder Aleksandr Doroshenko showed considerable skill and won an honorable prize third place in the nomination "Manual Argon Arc Welding with a Surfacing Electrode". In a festive atmosphere, Aleksandr was solemnly awarded an honorary diploma "Best Welder 2013".

The staff of NPP RUSMET sincerely congratulates the companies that are our customers - “MosFlowline” CJSC (1st place) and “Company MIR” LLC (2nd place) with first and second place.

The purpose of the competition is to increase the prestige of the welders' working profession, to discover and encourage specialists in the field who have extraordinary skills, outstanding professionalism and considerable knowledge.

The competition was held in the following categories:

  • Best manual arc welder (MMA)
  • Best welder in manual argon arc welding with non-consumable electrode (TIG)
  • Best welder in semi-automatic welding (MIG/MAG)

Only one contestant was allowed to participate in only one nomination.

The stages of the competition were:

Stage 1: testing knowledge of theoretical foundations using test cards.
Stage 2: making welding joints on the proposed materials.

Welding joints:

  • For manual arc welding with coated electrodes (MMA) - welding of a fixed, vertically positioned joint of two pieces of carbon steel pipe (158 x 4 mm L = 150 mm) with 30° chamfers with blunting 1.5 ± 0.5 mm;
  • For semi-automatic arc welding in shielding gas (MIG/MAG) - welding of a fixed, vertically positioned joint of two pieces of carbon steel pipe (158 x 4 mm L = 150 mm) with 30° chamfers with blunting 1.5 ± 0.5 mm;
  • For manual arc welding with a non-consumable electrode in inert gas (TIG) - welding of a fixed, vertical joint of two cuts of stainless steel pipe (102 x 2 mm L = 150 mm) without chamfers.

Awarding and congratulations to the winners.

The winners were awarded at the Sokolniki Exhibition Centre (Pavilion 4.1) on October 1, October 2, 13 at 14:30. All competition participants were awarded with company certificates (diplomas) of the competition participant.

The winners of the competition in all categories (MMA, MIG/MAG, TIG) were awarded the honorary diploma "Best Welder 2013".
