Metal sheets cutting is performed on modern gantry machines with numerical control (CNC), produced by American company MULTICAM and European company BAYKAL using the best plasma sources HPR 260 XD, HPR 260 and HPR 130 from the world leader in the production of plasma equipment Hypertherm, using the most effective thermal method of metal cutting — plasma cutting technology.

Plasma metal cutting is not inferior in quality to laser cutting, but superior in economic indicators and wider possibilities, especially regarding the maximum thickness when cutting metals. It cuts black steel, stainless steel, titanium and aluminium with the same efficiently.

Powerful plasma sources of the latest generation Hypertherm HPR 260 XD, HPR 260 and HPR 130 allow to cut metal sheets with a thickness of 1 to 40 millimetres, metal sheet: 2000 x 6000 mm.

Welding is performed on ESAB semi-automatic welding equipment. A rolling profile with a diameter of up to 330 mm is cut with JET metal band saw.

In order to improve the quality and range of metalworking services provided, a new BAYKAL BPS 2006 plasma and gas cutting machine was launched at the NPM RUSMET in the spring of 2010. HyDefinition technology provides higher cutting quality compared to the previous generation of plasma cutting equipment, without changing the quality of metal cutting throughout the entire period of use of consumables.

LongLife technology with revolutionary changes in the design of consumables for the plasmatron, these successfully rebuilt parts of the gas supply and cooling systems can significantly increase the life of consumables while maintaining cutting quality.

A wide range of cut metal thicknesses up to 150 mm is provided by a gas cutter manufactured by the Japanese company TANAKA.

In the production of NPM RUSMET, steel type of St3ps, 09G2S is often cut in large thicknesses of 20 mm, 30 mm and 40 mm. Various figure parts for various purposes are made for equipment, structures and mechanisms. For example, flanges for lighting poles, with an external diameter of 1600 mm, with an internal 16-sided hole and 16 small holes, for an anchor connection, with an accuracy of the hole axes location up to +/- 1 second degree, without additional processing, made of hot rolled steel type of 09Г2С, 30 mm thick. Or round flanges of stainless steel, 32 mm thick, for the Academy of Sciences of Russia (RAS) later used to create a picosecond hyperboloid. The connecting flanges of the exhaust system for exported ultralight aircraft are made of duralumin alloy.
