The new gas cutting machine IMP by ESAB, commissioned in January 2011 at the production facilities of NPP RUSMET , uses the method of gas cutting of metal. IMP gas machine by ESAB allows to cut metal up to 150 mm thick with a straight cut, around the circumference and at an angle to the surface of the sheet.

The multi-purpose gas cutting machine IMP by ESAB is a portable electromechanical device with a simple and robust design that guarantees ease of use, control, precision cutting and a long service life. Thanks to its light weight, IMP by ESAB can be easily transported by one operator and can be used in almost any environment.

The gas cutting machine can perform straight, circular, contour and inclined metal cuts with the preparation of the edges of the cut metal sheet for welding - to chamfer at any angle.

The gas cutting machine can be equipped with two gas cutting torches, allowing you to make X-, Y- and K-shaped edges, as well as cutting strips and flanges.

Straight metal cutting

  • Straight cutting - any square can serve as a guide for straight cuts of a metal sheet.
  • The portable gas cutting machine is equipped with guides that provide precise cutting direction and ensure high-quality metal cutting with gas.
  • The gas cutting machine moves smoothly along the guide rail made of lightweight aluminium alloy, which allows the gas cutting machine to move above the holes cut earlier. The guide rail, which is a prefabricated structure of two-meter segments, can be extended to the desired size.

Cutting metal of any profile

  • The IMP gas cutting machine by ESAB can cut any profile. With this metal cutting, the machine manually moves along a previously marked path.

Circular cutting

  • Using the standard tool supplied, the IMP gas cutting machine by ESAB can cut circles of various diameters from small 75 mm to large 1380 mm, with an additional insert up to 2450 mm.

Bevel cutting

  • The bevel is necessary for welding several sheets of different thicknesses, it is performed on the inside of a thick sheet, so that its thickness becomes equal to the thickness of a thin one. The design of the holder of the gas burner allows to set it below the level of the cut metal sheet. The sheet can be rotated for cutting. The bevel should not exceed the permissible cut thickness.

Edge preparation for welding. Chamfering.

  • The IMP machine can prepare edges for welding various profiles:
    • V-shaped profile: using one burner in one duty cycle
    • X-shaped profile: using two burners in one duty cycle
    • Y-shaped profile: using two burners in one duty cycle
    • K-shaped profile: using two burners in two duty cycles
